Chapter 1. Welcome home…
“You can’t go!” the cute little brown and white cow girl sobbed as she clung to the purple pink vixen’s waist. Her big blue eyes were wide with tears, “You can’t, and you promised you’d stay here with us.”
“Yeah!” exclaimed a small black eared cat girl with wet red eyes who was also clinging onto the vixen’s waist. “Please stay here. You said you would, Dark.”
“You can stay in the tree house,” the young brown and white bull said as he held onto the vixen’s hand. He pleaded with her with sad blue eyes. “We can take care of you.”

Chapter 1: Welcome Home…
“So wait, you’re having dreams about your childhood?” Melanie asked as Dark started to pull on her coat.
“Yeah,” Dark explained pushing her long hair out of her collar. “I used to live in Autumns Hollow back when I was a young girl, till I was sixteen at least.”
“Huh, I didn’t know that,” Melanie leaned on the doorframe looking perplexed. “So what brought you back?”
“A Promise,” Dark smiled at her as she opened the door.
“A promise,” Melanie blinked, “You came back to this town for a promise?”
“Yeah, I’ll tell you about it someday, Mel,” Dark nodded, “but right now I have to get to work.”
The collie sighed and put a hand to her forehead with a smile. Dark had been her roommate for less than a year, and already she was learning the fox woman had some secrets.
“Okay, okay, get going and don’t be late. The last time you walked you were twenty minutes behind schedule. Mr. Michaels won’t keep you if you keep being that late.”
“I know I know,” Dark grinned as she stepped out into the cold in her brown woolen coat. “I’ll see you later; don’t worry about dinner for me I’ll pick something up.”
Melanie nodded and locked the door as Dark walked down the steps of the small house that they were renting. She took a breath of the cool fall weather and let out a long sigh and thought, I’m home.
